It took me less than an hour today to file my returns. You know, just type in the numbers and click, click, click. (In case you haven't checked, here is the e-file PSA I am working on.) I remember back in Boston, when we would have this tax return party, with pizza and soda and the whole-nine-yard, while carefully penciling in form 1040, then inking it. Now those friends are no longer around, and I've moved to this sunny state for over three years now.

I got really sick today, am, however, enjoying quite a bit my fever dreams, which consisted of food stands, D, K, a second-handed book store, a temple, monks, and French kisses.

I had a mild fever today (damn the weather). But the most heart-breaking is, my car's gone bad again! So while waiting for the verdict, I spent, literally, hours goofing around the mall, trying on all sorts of exotic dresses and skirts, and giggled my heart out.

I spent couple hours today tutoring Jessie girl math. It surprised me: I haven't touched it for like, three plus years, but I remember almost every single detail. Math has become, my blood and flesh still. I wish one day I'll feel the same for animation, and I can come up with the answers, just like that, and feel sorry for not knowing why.

It's a day of mix-ups.
Yes it's the last day of Chinese New Year. No I didn't make it to the peace ralley. Yes we had rice balls. No I wasn't expect that. Yes it's Simpson's 300th episode. No it didn't rain afterall. Yes we watched it. Yes I took a shower. No I didn't shave. Yes I painted my toe nails again. Yes I look groovy today. No I didn't have a date.

I am no Smoove B, but for our singles night out today, I've planned ribs, Kate's concert, and Dave & Buster's. Oh, behave!

ps. I've worked hard today, and all the lip syncs are done! God would be so proud.

I am actually shy. Through the years I've come to understand that if you're not cute enough, you'd have to be tough. So I've learned to be tough. Toughness is very much misleading, but I am still shy inside. That's indeed a very sad combination.

1. sat in front of TV and watched infomercial for two hours straight.
2. opened a can of green giant corn and just ate it with a spoon.
3. got on nerve.com and read all the "woman seeking man" around my zip code.
4. painted my toe nails bright red.
5. drove twenty minutes to Krispy Kreme for one lousy doughnut.
6. wore skirt with boots.

We went see My Big Fat Greek Wedding today, and I was rather disappointed. I guess the happily-ever-after stories just don't work for me any more, especially the ones involving "self improvements" like losing the glasses, putting on makeups, and wearing cute dresses. (Wait. Doesn't it sound familiar?) Let's hope I am just going through a phase right now. And some day I'll have faith in mankind, again.

I have a classmate, let's call him Gorgeous Boy. GB is so extremely beautiful that I thought he was gay when we first met. Of course his sometimes sporting a purple-print shirt was misleading too. Anyways. So once in a while we'll talk about hangin out, and I'll assume GB has some question about Maya. It's like, glad to be at your service. Then we actually hanged out, and had a pretty fun time. So I realized I have this discrimination toward beautiful people: I simply presume that they are not sincere at all. Yet somehow I don't want to adjust my attitude... it's sour grape, but keep my mind in peace. So be it.

ps. If you don't know what Maya is; it's a stupid software we're using for computer animation. Kind of a love-and-hate relationship.

My car has smelled funny lately, so I sent it to the shop today. Just a simple inspection cost me $48.50. Damn. I am so going to take an Auto Repair class next quarter, I swear.

The verdict? Oil leak from the "valve cover gasket" (what the hell is that?) Estimate total? $503.18. Dear George W., please go ahead with the tax cut!

This is strikingly sad (read the commands, too). I have been there, in a way. You know, like if you have a blog that is not anonymous, what do you do to avoid your past relationships to haunt you? Is the friendly cyber-snooping approriate? Should the ex have the courtesy to leave you alone if no contact is to be made? Or do you politely and explicitly ask for it? Is it even fair?

Sometimes I miss D, and I post it. Then I wonder if he will check in some day and at least feel a bit uneasy about it as I do. I know it's pathetic of me to even think he should care any more. So dear D, if you are really reading this, please pretend you were not. I'd appreciate it.

We went see Frida today, though I don't especially admire her paintings. After the movie, Yuko sighed, "My life is so boring compare to hers." And I suddenly suspected that my disliking her because I am subconsciously jealous. It is scary.

ps. For a Julie Taymor film about Frida Kahlo, the movie is surprisingly well-behaved, even dull at times.
pps. I tried a bit for a "Self-Portrait with Monkey" but failed. So here is the monkey.

Oh did I mention the fortune I got today?
"An unexpected relationship will become permanent."
It's so overly cheesy yet strangly comforting, for I was kindly reminded too many times at the banquet that being 29 this year and still single is not something to celebrate. Thank you, people.

Dear Readers,

Thank you for sending me kind notes about my taking off, they almost brought tears to my eyes... (me actually have readers!? Sob sob.) Gee I probably didn't make it clear, but I'll be here all the same for another year. That is, I am probably going to start my practical training this summer and see how it goes. It's just the whole deadline thing: it's there, and surreal, but will eventually arrive. Yet another year nontheless.

So, cheers to you.
